- Manage the daily operation of the accounting department.
- Bank reconciliations daily.
- Preparing financial statements and interim reports
- Oversee payroll/benefit functions
- Conducting analytical review of monthly financial statements highlighting deviations from budget, unusual increases/decreases in revenue and expenses, providing explanations for each.
- Preparing government remittances timely and accurately
- Preparing key performance indicator reports and daily department docs
- Monitoring of progress toward dealership targets
- Auditing paperwork to ensure compliance
- Managing personnel development, administrative functions, and accounts receivable and payable
- Providing inter-departmental support and designing accounting policies and procedures for all departments.
- Consulting with individual department heads to assist in problem-solving
- Improving and implementing processes and procedures
- Analyzing specific accounts monthly which the manager or CAO request, including in-depth monitoring of accounts which may include but are not limited to bank reconciliations, listing of contracts in transit ensuring no old outstanding amounts, new & used inventory, factory receivables, warranty claims).
- Recommending capital expenditures for improved efficiencies
- Attending department head meetings
- Adhering to all organizational policies such as our Health and Safety policy.
- Five or more years of previous Automotive Controller experience required.
- Strong Communications, customer service, leadership, and organizational skills.
- High level of accuracy and analytical ability.
- Proficiency with CDK and Microsoft Office application.
