About the role
We are looking for a self-motivated and energetic Credit Analyst to join our Lending Department. This role will support various teams within the operations division, including funding, underwriting, collections, sales and servicing. Credit Analysts are able to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Key functions for this position are quality assurance, credit adjudication, reporting and lending support. Successful candidates will have a strong credit background and demonstrated success in contributing to service excellence, while also minimizing credit and fraud related risks.
Core responsibilities of the Credit Analyst include disbursing important loan applications, auditing credit and service quality, reporting on business performance and providing critical support to our merchants.
What you'll do:
Credit Quality Assurance
- Complete credit and service quality audits of first line operational teams
- Provide coaching and business recommendations based on audit findings and trends
- Analyze and fund applications with high dollar volumes, or special conditions
- Assess credit quality and documentation to ensure Financeit’s policies and guidelines are met
- Act as an additional line of defense for adjudication errors
- Ensure critical issues relating to loan disbursal are appropriately resolved
- Flag and escalate suspected fraud to Risk & Lending Management
- Maintain internal service levels with response and funding turnaround times within target
- Provide ongoing support to the Sales, Funding and Underwriting teams
- Complete holistic credit assessments to assess exception worthiness
- Run ad hoc training sessions based on trends identified during audits
- Provide direct support to our Merchants and Borrowers, where special attention is required
- Work with Sales and Operations Managers to provide feedback and training opportunities for staff development
- Provide formal business reports on audit results, trends and company performance to senior lending management
- Provide general assistance with ad hoc reporting, as necessary
- Work closely with Product, Tech & QA teams to ensure product integrity
- Analyze existing workflows to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains
- Brainstorm, propose and share insightful projects with key stakeholders, using available data
- Act as liaison between Sales, Risk and other departments to ensure smooth funding journeys
- Cross train to assist in underwriting, funding and customer service
- Understand and utilize UAT environments, to assess ongoing system controls and establish operational preparedness for new product launches
- Minimum 2 years of credit analysis or related industry experience
- In-depth knowledge of Risk Management and Credit Evaluation
- Strong analytical skills and extreme attention to detail
- Solid planning, organizing and time management skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Skilled at building relations and establishing rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to multi-task and adjust priorities on-the-fly
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Availability between the hours of 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM Monday to Friday
