We are looking for a skilled painter with leadership and communication skills to become a new Crew Leader. Your job will be to lead a crew of two (you and another painter) and complete your assignments. You will be in charge of managing time (of both you and the other painting) and resources to complete the job. You will also be in charge of developing the skills of your partner making sure that quality is at the absolute best.
An excellent Crew Leader is someone who is detail driven, able to communicate and is also patient. Detail driven as they will be in charge of the job: both the quality of work that is getting done and the time it gets done in. Ability to communicate as they will be communicating with, office staff, the builders and their own painter. Keeping everyone in the loop and abreast of the situation is very important and crucial. Finally, patient because you may be dealing with new painters that need some direction. As there will be days when the job doesn’t go your way and we need a person who is able to take it in stride and keep pushing forward.
Crew Leader duties include:
Reading blueprints/instructions and examining surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary.
Provide leadership and direction for the painter working with them.
Communicate with the Office Staff as to updates, issues of concern and solution as well timelines.
Communicate with the builder’s project manager that state of jobs and or issues that may need to be addressed in that, or other units.
Demonstrate clear and precise painting skills abilities, (brushing, rolling, Spraying, staining)
Take care and maintain KESA issued tools and or vehicle.
Qualifications
Proven 1 to 2 years experience as a painter
Conscientious with great attention to detail
Excellent knowledge of painting material
Excellent time management skills
Proven communication skills
Solid knowledge of commercial and/or construction painting techniques
Aptitude in using appropriate tools (brushes, caulking guns etc.)
Good basic math skills
Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders etc.
High school diploma; successful completion of an apprenticeship
Minimum of a Class G2 driver’s licence with a clean driving record

Salary: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
