Primary Duties
Utilities Kingston generates electric, gas, water and sewer bills on a daily basis. Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Billing, the incumbent will be responsible for data entry using the Customer Information System (CIS) required for processing and completing service orders, will be required to validate Customer Billing information, review queries for errors, review billing history and complete proactive phone calls to provide customers with account information and account changes. Investigate customer complaints and resolve account problems, maintain accurate filing systems, and perform other duties as required.
Education, Certification and Other Qualifications Required
- Minimum two (2) year post-secondary diploma in Business Administration or a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working in a computerized office environment, dealing with customers issues.
- Previous billing experience. Billing experience in a utilities environment is considered an asset.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and resourcefulness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high volume and time sensitive environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Intermediate mathematical skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to adapt to various software applications.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excels in a team-oriented work environment.
- Displays the values of Safety, Integrity, Innovation and Reliability.
Special Working Conditions/Conditions of Employment
- A Criminal Record Check, to the satisfaction of Utilities Kingston, will be required at the successful candidate’s expense.
- Valid G class drivers license.
