Data Analyst Summer Co-op (8 Months) will work closely with our IT team to provide technical assistance and support to our internal users. You will have the opportunity to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, assist with system upgrades and installations, and contribute to various IT projects. This role requires strong communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for technology. The ideal candidate is eager to learn and willing to take on new challenges in a dynamic work environment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Support
- Assisting service delivery team daily tasks in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting with onboarding, off boarding and PC builds ensuring a stable and consistent user experience.
- Work with active directory and Entra AD to add/modify users, computers, and groups.
- Assisting with MS Intune MDM and testing new functionality.
- Maintain open and clear communications with all IT Team members.
- Printer Maintenance.
- Prepare end-of-life equipment for e-waste.
- Play an active role in the creation and testing of documentation for systems, processes, how-to, FAQ, and other documentation as required.
- Update asset inventory spreadsheet and validate accuracy.
- Participate in incident reporting and management.
- Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate issues resolution.
- Participate in project work as required.
- Assist in conducting comprehensive data profiling and analysis to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and errors within Elexicon’s Customer Information System.
- Assist in developing and implementing data cleansing strategies and methodologies to address identified data quality issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand underlying factors and develop effective solutions to address and prevent data quality issues.
- Document data quality issues, remediation steps, and outcomes for future reference and audit purposes.
- Generate regular reports and dashboards to track data quality metrics, monitor progress, and communicate insights to stakeholders.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge in programming languages - SQL (Python an advantage)
- Working knowledge in using data visualization tools (ie. Tableau or Power BI)
- Experience working with relational databases (SQL Server and Oracle)
- Understanding of data governance principles and practices
- Experience in conducting data profiling to assess and improve the quality of data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey data quality insights to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to identify and address data quality concerns.
- Adaptable and Flexible – can adapt to changing project scopes, requirements, and deliverables, adjusting strategies and priorities as needed to accommodate iterative re-work cycles.
- Able to remain calm and focused under pressure, navigating tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and unexpected challenges with composure and resilience.

- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
- Detail-oriented - Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data cleansing processes.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Enrolled in a post-secondary Business Administration, Business Technology, Information Technology or Computer Science program at a college or university.
