We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Denture Lab Assistant. As a key member of our dental laboratory, you will work closely with our experienced technicians to contribute to the fabrication of custom dentures, ensuring the highest standards of quality and patient satisfaction.
This is an entry-level position. Experience is ideal, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Candidates must have good dexterity and be willing to work in a fast-paced production environment. A good candidate for this position would ideally have a strong degree of artistic ability and visual-spatial ability. There is plenty of room for growth for someone who is looking for a career. The right candidate must be able to do repetitive lab tasks and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Please note, this position will work out of both the Parksville and Nanaimo offices.
Starting wage is largely dependent on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in Denture Fabrication: Collaborate with senior technicians in the fabrication of complete and partial dentures, including pouring molds, setting teeth, and finishing procedures.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for denture construction, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Model Work: Trim, articulate, and mount models, and perform related tasks to aid in the construction of dentures.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality control checks to ensure that finished dentures meet the prescribed standards and make necessary adjustments.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including materials used, procedures followed, and any relevant patient information.
- Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of laboratory equipment, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other team members to streamline workflows and contribute to the overall success of the Denture Laboratory.
Qualifications:
- Dental Laboratory Experience: Previous experience in a dental laboratory setting, especially in denture fabrication, is preferred.
- Certified Dental Technician (CDT) Certification is an asset.
- Detail-oriented: Strong attention to detail and precision in executing laboratory tasks.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior technicians.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies in the field of dental prosthetics.
- Organizational Skills: Effective organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Good communication skills to work effectively with other team members and convey information accurately.
