What is the opportunity?
Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC's Technology and Operations division. GFT's impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. Our clients represent Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking and Wealth Management. We also lead the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration.

What will you do?
Directs all activities and initiatives related to application services for an entire organization or for major clients. Manages activities through senior managers and managers and implements corporate and divisional strategic plans and budgets.
- Maintaining relationships with clients; communicating with IT and business management. Monitoring prompt response and support for technical issues.
- Ensuring high standards and quality of technical work. Directing reviews of tools and technologies for improving performance and reducing costs.
- Directing, motivating, developing and managing the performance of the management team and key staff.
- Directing and managing the delivery of large or complex application development projects. Defining strategies and client needs focused on technology development.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Strong business understanding of retail and wholesale credit risk systems .
- Strong aptitude for Python, Spark, Java, Hadoop, OpenShift, Kubernetes and Machine Learning.
- Relational databases: an intermediate knowledge of relational database concepts and how to interact with databases using SQL is required.
- Excellent debugging skills and an ability to learn and customize vendor product offering
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with IBM Watson
- Credit Modeling and Credit strategy
