Position Summary
The Dietary Aide provides support to set up, preparation, serving and clean up associated with meal services in the Residence/Home.
This position provides a range of services with and on behalf of residents, their families, the staff, and the community at large utilizing a holistic framework.
The Dietary Aide is a member of the care team, collaborating on the delivery of resident care to meet resident and family related to nutritional and dietary needs.
Within the scope of this position, the Dietary Aide takes on a key role to continually provide an environment promoting a culture of resident safety and freedom from harm and injury.

Core Outcomes
- Receiving and rotation of stock on delivery days
- Inventory control of all storage areas
- Cleaning and organizing all storage areas
- To assist in the set up and preparation for service of various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, etc.
- To assist with cleaning of dishware as required.
- To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required.
- To follow and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures.
- To comply with all provincial regulations and established department policies and procedures.
- To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it.
- To attend in-service training as required in order to better serve the needs of the residents.
- To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place.
- To participate in the Quality Improvement Program.
- To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents)
- To uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity as set out in the Code of Conduct.
- To complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive bending
- Knowledge and understanding of inventory controls, including rotation of stock
- Ability to communicate both orally and written
- Ability to work responsibly and unsupervised
