Digital Service Squad Team Member
Community Futures Highwood is currently seeking an outgoing, enthusiastic, qualified candidate for the position of Digital Service Squad – Team Member.

Community Futures Highwood (CFH) is a non-profit organization with over 30 years experience in helping rural entrepreneurs grow and thrive as business owners.
The role of a Digital Service Squad (DSS) Team Member is to work with clients in assessing their business’s online presence, provide coaching on how to enhance digital capabilities (digital marketing, social media, website, etc.), provide technical support and training. Working together with our team you will use your technical expertise to respond to the unique needs of the small businesses in our region. DSS members will meet with clients in person as well as remotely. You will be required to travel independently to work with clients based in Okotoks, High River, Diamond Valley, Nanton, Vulcan, Foothills County, Vulcan County and the northern part of the MD of Willow Creek.
The DSS position(s) is part of the Business Link Digital Economy Program in collaboration with Digital Main Street and is funded by the Government of Alberta. This employment opportunity is intended to empower youth, and as such, applicants between the ages of eighteen to thirty years of age will be given preference. This is a limited 6-month term position, ending September 30, 2024.
A signing bonus of $3,000 will be offered upon hire.
Role
The focus of the DSS Squad member is to work one-on-one with small businesses by providing the following services:
Onboarding
· Review digital assessments
· Complete an initial consultation to establish their business goal and expectations
Coaching/Training
· Work with the business owners to help them achieve their business goals
· Provide additional resources
· Assist in the implementation of new technologies
· Develop and facilitate workshops and other training
Promotion
· Attend networking events and workshops to promote the program
· Fostering relationships within the entrepreneurial community
The DSS Team Member will be responsible for entering daily field notes into a customer relationship management database and to complete project reporting on a weekly basis. Evening or weekend work will occasionally be required.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will:
· Possess strong communication, presentation, and training skillsets (written and verbal)
· Possess excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills
· Possess organizational and time management skills
· Have work experience in online and offline marketing environments
· Be a self starter who can work with limited supervision
· Be able to travel and work independently
· Be skilled using digital technologies for small business, such as basic website management, social media and content creation, e-commerce, Google Business Profile, video, CRM solutions, email marketing, market research tools, inventory management, payment processing and productivity tools such as cloud storage, branding, marketing plans, etc.
· Be proficient in the of use basic software and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) and Slack
· Previous experience working with small businesses is considered an asset
· Digital Marketing Certificate/Diploma/Degree, or related experience and/or education is considered an asset
Position Requirements
· This is a limited term position ending September 30, 2024
· One full time position available (35 hours/week)
· Work hours will be flexible to meet the needs of business owners and availability of the successful client
· Our office is open 4-days per week, from Monday through Thursday, 8.75 hours/day
Additional Requirements
· Applicants must be able to prove identity by showing valid government issued identification (Drivers License, Passport)
· Hold a valid Class 5 Drivers License and have access to reliable transportation
· Applicants must be willing to obtain a current police and vulnerable sector check after hiring
· Applicants must reside within commuting distance of our office
