Direct Support Worker

Title: Direct Support worker (private contract)

Catulpa Community Support Services is assisting a Barrie area family with hiring Support Workers to work with their dependent son. The young man lives with autism and is well supported by his family and support team. The family is currently looking to add a full-time worker to join the support team.

Job Responsibilities:

Supports are both in-home and in community. This includes aiding with personal care, and home routines, and regular outings and community participation and recreation.

Experience and skills:

3 plus yrs Experience working with and supporting individuals with autism.

Ability to swim intermediate to advanced level, as the young man enjoys going to the rec. center and is an excellent swimmer. Access to a reliable vehicle is necessary.

Location: Barrie, ON

Hourly rate: $35 per hour. This a full-time position. A training period will be offered at the start. Successful candidate will be requested to provide a satisfactory criminal background check with Vulnerable Sector Screening. -CPIC/VSS.
