Director, Group Benefits

For 50 years, CPA Insurance Plans West has been the trusted provider of Individual Insurance for CPAs and Group Employee Benefits for small to medium CPA firms. We are starting a new chapter, poised for a strategic refresh to foster growth. You will be a driving force behind this transformation.

As a leadership team member, you will help shape the organization's strategic direction, priorities, and expectations. You will be responsible for a successful Group Employee Benefits Plan that supports our overarching business goals. How we get there will be up to you.

The Role

As the Director of Group Benefits, you will be responsible for:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the Group Employee Benefits plan
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, implement and administer a Group Employee Plan that meets the needs of small and medium CPA Firms
• Ensure high-quality customer service is delivered with every customer interaction
• Develop customer service processes (best practices, forms management, claims processing, process audits, checklists, FAQ pages, templates, etc.)
• Establish and maintain strong working relationships with benefits providers and vendors
• Provide coaching and mentorship to the Benefits Services Team to support their ongoing development
• Willingness to jump in and help the Team achieve our goals in any way possible

Experience and Education

The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• 10+ years of senior-level Benefits experience
• Thorough knowledge of Group Employee Benefits and Individual Insurance
• Experience in designing and managing Group Benefits programs
• Experience working with insurance carriers and managing vendor relationships
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance requirements
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Loves managing projects and delivering desired results
• Experience in contract negotiations with insurers is an asset
• Life and Accident & Sickness Licenses
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) certification is an asset
• Comfortable using various software programs
