Explore your next role:
The Director of Quality Control is responsible for ensuring that the company remains compliant with aviation regulations, providing departmental direction and oversite developing and managing the department budget and ensuring actions promote favorable and strong relationships between Voyageur and its customers, service providers and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure company compliance to aviation regulations by:
a) Monitoring changes to Canadian and foreign aviation regulations.
b) Creation of new and amendment of existing policies / procedures regarding Voyageur’s Approved Maintenance Organizations.
- Support Voyageurs Corporate and Commercial requirements by:
a) Facilitating the transfer of aircraft registrations to Voyageur
b) Facilitate the issuance Certificates of Airworthiness both Imports and Exports through the Transport Canada Ministers Delegate,
c) Filing of any documents with Transport Canada as required for the continued operation of the company.
- Support the companies Safety Management and Quality Assurance requirements through.
a) Completing Quality Non-Conformance investigations, related to the company’s Approved Maintenance Organizations, and creating and implementing effective corrective action plans.
b) Aiding SRMS Investigators and Quality Auditors in the investigation of irregularities and internal audits.
- Oversee the management of the Approved Maintenance Organizations training requirements to ensure they
a) Remain in compliance with regulation.
b) Relevant to the company’s current needs and future growth plans.
- Monitoring the department's overall performance to.
a) Identify, create strategies and implementation methods for improving quality, performance and efficiencies within the department.
b) Provide managers the necessary resources to meet their goals.
c) Conduct candid and unbiased manger performance reviews.
d) Ensure managers comply with company and legal requirements.
- Asses short- and long-term company projections to provide department fiscal planning that can effectively support the organization through preparation of business plans and department budgets, ensuring.
a) Adequate department staffing levels
b) Relevant, consistent, and reliable Technical Publication subscription management.
- Liaise with customers, vendors and regulatory authorities on Quality matters relating to:
a) Publication licensing agreements.
b) Aircraft deliveries.
c) Audits
d) Regulatory Matters
Your Distinctive Ingredients for Success:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Quality Control field; 5 of which must be in a management role.
- Teamwork – must be able to work effectively with the safety team, other Voyageur stakeholders, and Chorus entities.
- Superior verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Exceptional leadership skills to effectively lead managers.
- Strong understanding of industry standards, business operations and regulatory requirements.
- Innovative mindset to create new, effective solutions.
- Analytical skills to interpret data.
- Ability to interpret Canadian and foreign aviation regulations and how they affect the company policies and procedures.
- Ability to problem solve and suggest improvements, implement changes.
Location and other Key Details:
- You will work out of our North Bay location.
- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
