Job description

OVERVIEW:

In addition to full profit and loss (P&L) accountability, the Division Manager is responsible for operational planning, daily operations, regulatory compliance, customer service, and residential sales. The division delivers fuel, propane, and lubricant products to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers in the region and has one fuel card lock. The key to the Manager’s success will be their ability to simultaneously roll up their sleeves to become familiar with the daily operations to improve customer service, efficiency, and employee engagement. We are looking for a leader who will jump in to support their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop excellent relationships with customers by providing them with timely and personalized service that exceeds expectations.
  • Grow the business through individual efforts and leveraging industry contacts, effective deployment of sales personnel, local advertising, and community involvement.
  • Responsible for operational planning and business analysis.
  • Maintain the safe, efficient, and clean operation of company assets, including vehicles, bulk plants, card locks, fuel tanks, and others.
  • Accountable for sustainable long-term financial performance.
  • Train, inspire, and provide support to all divisional employees, and assist them in the consistent delivery of exceptional customer service. Utilize best practices to coach employees and address performance needs.
  • Build effective relationships with suppliers of equipment and contracting services, and ensure that both parties work collaboratively to grow the customer base.
  • Responsible for the Health and Safety of all employees, on-site contractors, and customers. Ensure a safe working culture by engaging employees and performing root cause analysis for any incidents or accidents. Must maintain accurate records and reviews and follow up on investigation reports, as required.
  • Ensure all aspects of the business are compliant with all relevant regulatory requirements, including TSSA, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Environment, MTO, etc.

EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Experience leading operations in a customer service-oriented environment.
  • Previous experience effectively leading a team of a minimum of ten people.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Entrepreneurial and business savvy.
  • Practical experience involving trucking operations, equipment installations, and route dispatching is considered valuable experience.

  • Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Able to demonstrate exceptional personal and business integrity.
  • Ability to display initiative and demonstrate sound business judgment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to customer sites and other MacEwen locations when required.
  • Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends (including on-call) when so required.
