What you will be doing:
As a Family Time Support Worker, you will provide support to marginalized children and families who have Children’s Services involvement. This includes First Nations, Metis and Inuit families, as well as, Refugee and first-generation Canadian families that have experienced the impacts of trauma, multigenerational abuse and neglect. You are an excellent problem solver, organized, and collaborative in your approach to working with Families and other professionals.
- Support Family Time between parents and their children in the community and in client homes.
- Actively engage in hand-over-hand teaching with a focus on supporting parent-child attachment and reinforcing parent’s strengths through a variety of techniques.
- Transport children to and from supported Family Time.
- Provide occasional childcare.
- Work a regular schedule of Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday with two evening shifts per week.
What you will bring to the role:
- Diploma or Degree in Human Services Field, with related experience
- Experience working with Child & Family Services and CSD beneficial
- Experience working with families from diverse cultures, especially Indigenous families
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
Background Check Process & Requirement:

- Police Information Check-Vulnerable Sector (completed within the last 6 months)
- Child Intervention Records Check (completed within the last 6 months)
- Our Children Are Sacred Youth Suicide Prevention Training or ASIST Suicide Intervention Training within 3 months of start date
- Standard First Aid Level C CPR within 3 months of start date
- Registration with a professional body, if eligible (such as RSW)
- $2 million Vehicle Liability Insurance
- Reliable Vehicle, available for regular use and valid driver’s license
- 5-years Driver Abstract
