CCNMis currently looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced Finance Manager provide financial and managerial support in theFinance department and support the College at large in: Account Maintenance,Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and General Ledgeraccounting. This position will oversee and manage staff in the Accounts Payablearea, as well as manage the month end and year-end processes, includingapprovals of journal entries, refunds, and other financial materials requiringoversight and approval.
Note the successful candidate can work out ofeither our Boucher Campus, New Westminster British Columbia or the Toronto,Ontario Campus
DUTIES
- Audits all invoices prepared by AccountsPayable to check for accuracy (accounts, amounts, adequate information onposting, tax calculations and correcting for capital and prepaid items).
- Guides the team and/or performs more complexreconciliations of vendor accounts and the payable ledger to subledger.
- Reviews processes and procedures to findopportunities for improvement in the accounts payable department.
- Verifies and posts weekly cash deposits.
- Approves all daily journals recording bankingactivity.
- Lead the team during audit to help coordinatetimely submission of working papers and assists where required to meetdeadlines, maintaining a high standard of accuracy, completeness andorganization.
- Provides daily supervision to accounts payablestaff and co-op students.
- Monitors the quality of service provided bydepartment especially in the following areas: communication, customer serviceand completeness of work
- Works with various business areas on projectsto put new systems, upgrades or improvement in place to advance the business
- Assists Controller in the budgeting processwhere required
- CPA designation
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similaraccounting position preferably in a not-
- for-profit charitable sector and/or educationalinstitution
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate theneeds at both campus
- Experienced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV andother relevant accounting software
- Advanced Excel skills and solid understandingin other MS Office products
- Functional knowledge of general ledger,accounts receivable and accounts payable operations in a not-for-profit and/oreducational environment
- Knowledge in finance and accounting proceduresand regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and on tightdeadlines
- Good interpersonal skills - able to communicateeffectively oral and written to all levels of staff as well as externalcontacts with minimal supervision
- Exceptional organizational skills and detailorientation
- Leadership skills to provide support to directreports
- Exemplary customer service skills to deal witha wide variety of internal and external clients
The salary for this full-time position starts at $68,000/year dependent on experience.
