Under the direction of the General Manager, you will provide financial guidance and leadership to the operations within your factory. You will partner with the North American Finance Managers and other regional roles including Systemair Group, our corporate finance team. We are looking to promote or hire a Finance Manager that shares our ambition to achieve our four Key Outcomes.
The role directs the accounting and finance policies, procedures, and objectives for the factory and coordinates the monthly, quarterly, and annual operational results. The Finance Manager role drives our advancement towards becoming positive financial stewards to our shareholders, while demonstrating that our finance strategies and initiatives are being effective in that goal.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees all finance, accounting, budgeting, forecast and other reporting activities in the factory and ensures accurate and timely submission of all financial reports.
- Oversees the accounting, finance, and IT departmental employees.
- Coordinates and administers an adequate plan for the financials of operations. Such a plan provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, asset management, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to execute the plan.
- Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of leadership. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required by the GM or others in leadership.
- Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.
- Assures protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and ensuring proper insurance coverage.
- Monitors credit and collection applications. Approves terms above a threshold amount.
- Keeps the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) informed of the division’s performance and provides advice and commentary on all financial matters.
- Executes cash disbursements for payments of corporate and divisional expenditures in accordance with disbursement and policies.
- Reconciles P&L monthly and conducts self-audits on various financial controls.
- Monitors inventory levels and advises management regarding variances to budget.
- Routine collaboration and financial reporting communication to countries in North America as well as Europe.
The following are education and experience criteria used to evaluate the suitability of the Finance Manager profile or candidates for the position:
- Demonstrated leadership skills with highly sensitive and confidential data.
- Excellent verbal and written ‘effective’ communication skills.
- Strong communication, analytical, influential, presentation, and financial analysis skills.
- Finance leader with 7 plus years of operational finance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment and 2 to 3 years of positional leadership experience (Manager or higher).
- Working knowledge of various automated accounting systems and principles.
- Formal education or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and looking at a computer.
- Sitting, lifting, squatting, pushing, or reaching for intermittent or extended periods.
- Potential to travel a maximum of 10% to meet regional needs.
- Factory, Warehouse, Distribution Center, Office.
- Primary work environment is an office setting.
- May be exposed to loud, repetitive sounds from machinery or equipment if walking through the warehouse or factory.
