As a Finance Manager you will report to the sr finance manager and assist in achieving the company's goals by providing financial leadership to the Retail Operations team. This includes analytical and strategic support for new growth initiatives, sales planning and forecasting, monitoring business and competitive trends and uncovering actionable insights that influence future priorities and initiatives.
This role will be working out of the Toronto Regional Office and will require the successful candidate to work out of the regional office 3 days per week.
As a finance manager, retail operations, you will:
• Assist in achieving the company's goals by providing financial leadership to the Retail Operations and Partner Resources (Human Resources) team.
• Play a pivotal role in driving strategic support to our retail teams through financial performance management, retail operations sales analytics, financial modeling, and labour workforce planning across our stores.
• Provide a unique opportunity to drive strategic operational excellence in retail stores across Starbucks Canada, enhancing the experience of our partners, and optimize our processes in stores.
• Leading retail operations and partner resources finance for the Canadian business while becoming an analytical thought partner to five cross functional Vice Presidents (within Retail Operations, Operation Services, and Partner Resources).
• Managing retail operations sales and profit results for Starbucks Canada, monitoring key operational performance indicators that drive business insights - including store & regional performance analytics.
• Leading the financial planning and forecasting for total compensation and benefits for all retail partners across Canada - including workforce planning for our store partners (employees), incentive programs, and indirect expenditures.
• Leading executive level presentations to communicate the narrative around retail performance management and providing clear recommendations to senior leaders on key risks and opportunities.
• Guiding financial modeling to help shape recommendations and decisions. Projects can include Wage and Benefits program redesign, opportunities to drive operational excellence, among others.
• Assisting in the Strategic Planning process, providing analytical support for long-term strategies.
• Maintaining close relationships with U.S. based colleagues, leveraging best practices from global programs to enhance the Canadian business.
• Coaching and develop a team of three finance professionals that include a senior financial analyst and two financial analysts.
Qualifications -
We'd love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor's Degree (business, finance or accounting specialization preferred).
• Experience in a Finance Manager role, ideally at a large retailer
• Strong record of performance management, financial analysis, and planning accountability.
• Experience leading teams - including developing direct reports and establishing a team culture.
• Excel at leading and influencing cross-functional partners, with a solutions-oriented approach to solving problems with a strong customer-centric focu
• Proactive and ambitious mindset, willing to challenge the status quo to improve the business.
• Ability to deliver results through others, setting team priorities and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
