Financial Administrator
Status: Full time Compensation: $65,000 with benefits package
Reporting to the Executive Director
Routes Connecting Communities is a growing York Region based not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping people on their journeys in life. We improve access to basic needs, enhance community engagement and improve social connections.
Office Hours:
37.5 hours per week with evening and weekend work as required
hybrid work environment
Responsibilities:
Financial administration
o Prepare receipts, monthly reconciliation, daily journal entries and general ledgers
o Ensure expenses are allocated to projects and revenue in accordance with budget
o Review staff expense reports for accuracy
o Prepare month end closing cycles
o Prepare funder financial reports
o Monitor grant financials
o Assist Community Connector with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
o Work with Finance committee and ED to prepare forecasts and annual budgets
o Complete year end audit
Bank
o Keep bank accounts and credit cards up to date
o Prepare bank deposits, process interac payments, prepare bank reconciliation
o Administer EFTs
Payroll
o Prepare and process payroll and all related remittances and payroll documents. Ensure the payroll application records are kept up to date, including tracking time and leaves, and prepare monthly reconciliations and analysis as requested
Donations
o Update donor information in database and prepare timely reports, tax receipts and analysis
Qualifications:
o Minimum of 3-5 years working in a Finance Environment
o Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Finance or related field
o Experience with financial management and payroll
o Experience with Ceridian payroll and Quickbooks online, an asset
o Experience tracking budgets and forecasting
o Strong interpersonal, problem solving and organizational skills
o Experience in non-profit accounting, an asset
o Attention to detail
o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work independently
