FORESTRY STUDENTS
We are currently seeking applications for full time and seasonal forestry staff in our Prince George and Burns Lake divisions. We're hiring students, crew leads and field supervisors for positions that will have a start date in May 2023.
DWB can offer you a solid foundation to launch your forestry career. These are skills you will always appreciate, whether you decide to pursue a career in forestry or any other field requiring technical field skills. As these are field positions, you must be ready to show your tough side. You will be working long hours in remote locations, in all weather conditions. The work is physically and mentally demanding, but you will learn a lot about yourself and how to work in a team environment. We promise, living in camp and working in the field will provide you with stories to share around many campfires!
QUALIFICATIONS:
- No experience is necessary to apply; however, applicants with relevant experience will be considered for higher level positions.
- Current student or graduating from a natural resources related program.
- Passion for working outdoors
- Work well on a team
- Safe working mindset
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
YOUR ROLE:
- Block boundary and road layout
- Timber reconnaissance
- Timber cruising
- Riparian assessments
- Ecological data collection
- GPS data collection and road traversing
- Engineered Cost Estimates
