Forklift Driver

Ketler Farms is a joint venture operation with Nature Fresh Farms Inc. It is a 30-acre state-of-the art greenhouse facility that is committed to quality vegetable production.

Job Details

Reporting to the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator, the Forklift Driver is responsible for using a forklift to load, unload, move, stack, stage and count product and material. They also maintain the cleanliness of our facilities including warehouse, greenhouse and exterior. The Forklift Driver is a critical part of the team that keeps our facilities safe, efficient, and organized.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Coordinate with the Shipper/Receiver to unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations. Product must be efficiently stacked and stored in appropriate areas.

· Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.

· Complete various cleaning tasks throughout the facility. The warehouse must stay organized, and FIFO is followed.

· Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

· Maintain appropriate records and reports to guarantee accurate inventory control.

· Inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift and other equipment.

· Transfer garbage to the garbage bins located outside.

· Ensure all walkways are kept free of debris to prevent slips, trips and falls as well as clean up any items lying around such as cords, baskets etc.

· Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.

· During cleanout season, the Forklift Operators assists in the greenhouse however necessary.

· Ensure that greenhouse materials are readily available to staff, movement of materials as requested by supervisors or growing team.

· Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and all company policies and procedures.   

· Actively initiate, participate in, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

· Reporting and additional duties as assigned by the company or management.

Working Conditions

· Full-time, Permanent.

· The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, with weekend availability as needed. Hours of work may vary depending on business needs; Flexibility required.

· This job operates in a warehouse that can be cold or hot at any time of the year.

· The noise level in the work environment can be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation.

· Role frequently requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, use hands to handle or feel product or packaging, and reach with hands and arms.

· The position requires the ability to regularly lift to 30-pounds, occasionally up to 50-pounds.

Physical Requirements:

· This is an active role; Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time; bending, crouching, kneeling.

· Possibility of working at heights or lifting up-to 25lbs.

· Utilizes a scissor cart throughout the day and must move it around. It is required as plants grow taller.

Salary: Determined by experience.
