Who we're looking for:
- Minimum 3+ years' experience as a paid professional tax preparer, using professional tax software
- Prepared at least 125 tax returns per tax season for the past 3 years
- Experience with various types of tax returns (e.g., student, pension, self-employed, rental property, investments, and foreign income)
- Familiarity with E2E customer personal returns, including employment, self-employment, rental, investments, T1135, foreign income and all credits/deductions
- Knowledge of tax laws and concepts, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Technical proficiency in Windows and mobile platforms, as well as G-suite applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexible availability/schedule
- Bilingual proficiency (English and French) is an asset
- Experience with Quebec tax (TP1) returns is an asset
- Experience in a contact center environment is an asset
Your role and responsibilities:
- Provide tax guidance to customers in a remote, seasonal, customer-facing position
- Collaborate with customers to prepare or review their tax return, ensuring compliance and accuracy
- Research and address tax-related questions, communicating directly with customers through written and oral communication
- Offer a Full Service experience by preparing, reviewing, and filing customers' returns with the CRA, or guiding customers as they prepare their own return
- Research tax regulations to provide accurate advice on maximizing customers' tax returns
- Create positive customer interactions and experiences by empathizing with customers and utilizing your tax knowledge
- Proactively find and provide the right answers to customers using reliable resources and translating complex information into understandable language
- Apply established practices and procedures to troubleshoot and resolve customer inquiries
