Front Of House Manager

We are hiring a Front of House (FOH) Manager for weekend evenings. The right person will have a warm persona with a proven track record of making people feel welcome. Generally happy in life, we are looking for someone who enjoys people and finds meaning in being part of a small independent farm-based restaurant.

Expected to interact with and welcome our guests in a manner that establishes and builds long-term rapport and relationships, the FOH Manager must also be able to simultaneously supervise the waitstaff and deal with any issues or emergencies which may arise. This person is entrusted with keeping the entire customer-facing part of the restaurant running smoothly, regardless of any obstacles which may arise. The ability to anticipate and mitigate potential problems, as well as respond on a dime to find positive solutions to issues which arise is crucial for success in this role.

Supporting and training the waitstaff to ensure guests are welcomed and cared for throughout their visit is a key aspect of the FOH Manager’s role. In addition, the FOH manager must be able to communicate with the kitchen team effectively throughout the dinner service, ensuring the guest dining experience is as seamless as possible. Comfort with technology for managing reservations and the restaurant POS system is a must. Experience with assuring responsible alcohol service throughout the establishment is required.

Previous experience in the Restaurant and Hospitality industry is essential, as well as availability for Thursday - Saturday evenings.

Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 9 months

Salary: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18 – 30 per week
