The Social Media Manager is responsible for developing creative assets. In this role, you will plan, create, and edit content (including images, video, printed materials and digital assets) on a daily basis. Acting at the intersection of art direction, graphic design and content creation, you will express the brand with marketing assets in a consistent and engaging way that increases brand awareness and inspires community members to participate.
Primarily responsibilities:
Creative Asset Development
- Act as primary designer on all design aspects of brand graphics and marketing materials
- Maintain and refine the visual look and feel of the brand, using the brand's guidelines clearly, consistently, and innovatively to create a unified but never boring brand
- Produce visual assets including photography, video, printed materials and digital assets
- Partner with internal teammates such as Product Designer, DTC Director, ECommerce Manager and wholesale Sales team to identify content needed for the achievement of company-wide objectives
- Produce both formal assets (model photoshoots) and informal content (behind the scenes, authentic captures)
- Own and execute miscellaneous content creation projects as needed
Photoshoots
- Hands-on project ownership of all photoshoots including pre-production, on-set direction and post-production
- Deliver multiple styles of assets, including lifestyle photoshoots, ecommerce pdp shoots, and casual content suitable for Social Media.
- Ensure all assets are modern and upscale.
- Own model selection process and management of model/photography rights
- Manage external retouching services and provide additional hands-on retouching/resizing as needed
- Track the creative production budget
- Maintain organized creative asset library on drive so teammates can easily locate and use assets
Social Media Content Creation
- Create a steady stream of content for media streams to express brand principles while engaging and delighting followers (be in front and behind the camera/iphone)
- In partnership with Ecommerce Manager, plan a promotional calendar of Social Media content to support each product drop
- Execute asset development to meet the planned promotional calendar
- Stay abreast of Social Media trends to identify ways to insert the cultural zeitgeist
Skills and Attributes:
- An creative ideator who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Self motivated with consistent can-do spirit
- Adept with iphone content production including photography and video editing
- Organized and detail-oriented professional that never lets anything fall through the cracks
- Demonstrated effectiveness managing the workflow of content development
- Expert in Adobe Suite (Ai, Psd, XD, InD) with Figma a plus.
- Video editing or motion experience (AfterEffects, Premiere, gif-making) preferred
- 3+ years of experience on an apparel brand
- Hand-on experience with photoshoots
- 3+ years developing Social Media content
- Refined yet playful taste
