Full Charge Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our team at Bluenose RV Centre. In this key role, the incumbent manages and oversees all aspects of Bluenose RV Centre’s financial transactions and records.

Located in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Bluenose RV Centre prides itself as a premier destination for all things recreational vehicles (RVs). Our team consists of knowledgeable sales professionals, certified technicians, and dedicated support staff who are enthusiastic about helping individuals, both internal and external to Bluenose RV Centre.

The Full-Charge Bookkeeper takes on comprehensive responsibilities to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial information, thereby supporting the company’s overall financial health and compliance with relevant regulations. Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, the incumbent provides information and support on all financial issues and is a key member of the management team.

In this role, you will:

➢ Record financial transactions using a DMS platform, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries;

➢ Ensure accounting transactions comply with Canadian accounting standards for private enterprise;

➢ Perform online banking transactions, create/maintain working relationships with account managers, and comply with financial institution policies and practices;

➢ Communicate regularly with accounts payable vendors regarding financial transactions, discounts and payment inquiries;

➢ Reconcile bank and credit card statements and monitor cash flow;

➢ Generate monthly financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets;

➢ Prepare and submit government remittances and comply with CRA and CBSA auditors or other government-mandated boards;

➢ Prepare accurate and timely fiscal year end documents and analytical information for external accounting firm for purposes of audit and tax preparation;

➢ Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and organized filing systems; and,

➢ Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in automotive accounting.

Qualifications/Requirements:

➢ Certified Bookkeeping Designation; an equivalency of education and experience may be accepted;

➢ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a full-Charge Bookkeeper role, preferably in the RV or automotive industry;

➢ Strong knowledge of accounting and financial reporting principles;

➢ Proficient in using dealership management software and Microsoft 365 Outlook, Word, and Excel. Motility Infinity DMS training will be provided.

➢ Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;

➢ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities;

➢ Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team;

➢ Proven ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment;

➢ Excellent oral and written communication skills;

➢ Managing financial projects will be seen as an asset; and,

➢ Ability to develop and maintain strong internal and external working relationships.
