Shift Work Required: Yes (Days/Afternoons)
Rate of Pay: $29.20 per hour
The start date will follow the selection process.
Characteristic Duties: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.
1. Assist Employees in the section in the routine mechanical and maintenance work on all automotive, mechanical and construction equipment.
2 Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge of CGS's Safety Manual and the applicable Provincial Legislation listed therein.
3. Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade XII) Education.
- Must be able to acquire a Class “DZ” driver’s licence.
- No Fleet experience necessary.
- Demonstrate mechanical ability or aptitude.
- Possess a tool kit sufficient to adequately assist a Technician and valued at no less than $250.00, and must contain the following: 1 only set 3/8" x 3/4" shallow to 13/16" deep sockets; 1 only feeler gauge; 1 only crescent wrench 12"; 1 only pr. vice grips; 1 only pr. 8" pliers; 1 only ball peen hammer; 1 only 3/8 - 1 1/4" socket set; 1 only tool box.
- Excellent use of English; verbally and in writing.
- Satisfactory health, attendance and former employment history.
- May require the use of a CGS vehicle on CGS business. Must be physically capable of operating a vehicle safely, possess a valid driver's licence, and have an acceptable driving record.
This job is also being posted as a development opportunity. Should there be no fully qualified candidate for this position, a candidate who can be expected to meet the required qualifications within a reasonable period of time may be considered for this position as a development opportunity.
Development opportunity rate of pay: $27.74 per hour. The successful candidate will be paid at the reduced rate until the minimum qualifications have been met.
