Indigenous Supported Child Development Consultant

About the Opportunity:
FRIS is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Indigenous Supported Child Development Consultant to join our team on a full-time basis in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows, BC. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of Indigenous children and their families by providing developmental support and resources. You will work closely with Indigenous families and childcare providers to ensure the full participation and inclusion of Indigenous children.
Position Responsibilities:- Promote traditional Indigenous cultural teachings and practises for families, agency, and community
- Build professional supportive relationships with parents/caregivers and the child's support circle
- Manage a caseload of participants with home, childcare centre, and school visits
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and monitoring of individual support plans
- Collaborate with families and childcare providers to promote development and inclusion
- Administer developmental screening and assessments
- Liaise with other health and social service professionals
- Facilitate parent education sessions
- Contribute and participate in community events and initiatives
- Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification, including Infant Toddler/Supported Child Development Certification
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in ECE
- Valid Class 5 BC driver's licence and clean driver's abstract
- Ability to obtain a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
- Valid First Aid certificate with Infant CPR (or ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment)
- Working knowledge of Early Childhood Development and assessment tools
- Experience in Infant and Supported Child Development or related ECD work
- Exceptional understanding and knowledge of Indigenous culture and traditions
- Direct programme delivery experience in the community social service sector
