CASUAL INSTRUCTOR, INTERDISCIPLINARY THERAPY ASSISTANT PROGRAM
FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for a physiotherapist dedicated to making a difference to join our Faculty of Health Studies team as casual instructor in our accredited Interdisciplinary Therapy Assistant (ITA) program.

This is a casual position from April 29 – June 30, 2024. The successful candidate must be available to teach in-person at the downtown Edmonton campus Mondays and Wednesdays. They will support two courses: therapeutic exercise, and therapeutic range of motion and outcome measures (e.i. goniometry, manual muscle testing, functional outcome measures, evidence-based practice).
HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
- Facilitate learning in a variety of methods including lecture, laboratory, and online learning.
- Assess, monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback to the students in order to facilitate the successful completion of their diploma program.
- Help learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be safe and successful health care practitioners.
- Demonstrate effective human relations skills.
- Demonstrate professional conduct.
- Adhere to policies and procedures of the program and college.
- Participate in professional development.
- Contribute to the achievement of divisional and program unit goals.
- Prepare and deliver instructional material for both theory and lab courses.
- Provide instruction for both online and in-person classes.
- Support curriculum maintenance of instructional courses.
- Supervision of students in both lab settings.
- Manage student progress and provide resources to enhance student learning.
- Model professional behaviour at all times.
- Maintain appropriate student records and reports.
- Liaise with other instructional team members.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Physiotherapist registered with the College of Physiotherapy of Alberta.
- If your education was received internationally we recommend you obtain an international education assessment through IQAS, WES, or one of the other nationally designated organizations.
- 5+ years clinical experience in physiotherapy.
- Experience teaching, or mentoring Therapy Assistants.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently, and collaboratively on a team.
- Computer skills and online teaching experience preferred.
- A Police Information Check within the last ninety days.
- A Vulnerable Sectors Check within the last thirty days.
- Up-to-date immunization records including COVID-19 vaccinations.

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a casual role which includes 11.2% in lieu of vacation and benefits.
This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement Appendix A outlines how pay is determined.
