Part-time College Instructor to Teach Medical Office Assistant & Unit Clerk Students.

Global College of Business and Technology is in NE Calgary, AB. We offer four licensed training programs across Canada's provinces. We are hiring an instructor to teach online Medical Office Assistant and Unit Clerkstudents. This is a part-time on call position, and requires flexibility in schedule. The teaching hours may be on weekends or weekdays, depending on the offered class schedules.

The newly hired will also cover instructors on leave. The expected start date is April 10, 2024. This hybrid position allows you to work from home or in school.

The schedule of our classes is as follows:

Weekdays AM - 8:30 to 12:30

Weekdays PM - 5:00 to 9:00

Weekend WD - 9:00 to 5:00

Qualifications:

● Degree in Medicine, Hospital Administration, or equivalent relevant medical experience

● At least five years of Medical-related job experience

● At least one year of teaching experience in an adult setting or a diploma in adult education.

● Excellent instructional and teaching skills

● Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

● Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications & Google Applications, esp. Google Classroom

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Designs, facilitates, and teaches the medical instruction components.

● Creates lesson plans that are appropriate for the age and ability of the students.

● Prepare seatwork and exams.

● Evaluate student performances in class and on tests and provide feedback.

● Provides appropriate resources and learning materials for students.

● Utilize varying teaching methods that work best for students who learn differently.

● Maintain accurate records of students’ progress.

● Promotes a safe, effective, and ethical classroom environment.

● Uses professional discretion and judgment in managing students in a classroom setting.

● Participates in instructor meetings and curriculum development.
