Intermediate Construction Lead Hand

Located 45 mins north of the GTA. For over 30 years, Country Signs has been the leader in new construction and refurbishing of gas stations across Canada. We provide a one stop shop for our customers including but not limited to, full installations, repairs, and service. We pride ourselves on doing whatever it takes to satisfy the customer with a ‘can do’ mentality. We are currently looking for dedicated, hardworking individual(s) to join our team and be an ambassador for Country Signs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to solve large scale problems with the help of the Lead Hand/Shop Manager
• Complete tasks on site including but not limited to the assembly of the steel canopy, installation of signage, and sign packages
• Excavating and pouring of concrete bases
• Lead small crew of General Labourers
• Ability to use various hand and/or power tools including how to read a tape measure
• Communicate with Project Manger and/or Shop Manager daily about progress on site
• Complete required safety paperwork using iPad
• Train new hires
• Organize site and communicate to your crew what tasks need to be completed each day
• Conduct Tool Box Talks
• Communicate with customers directly
• Enforce OHSA

Requirements for this position:

• Excellent work ethic
• Ideally, you have been working on a construction site for 3-5 years' with managing a small crew
• Takes initiative
• Willingness to learn
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent understanding of Microsoft Outlook and ability to use an iPad
• Ability to travel out of town Monday-Friday each week
• Working at Heights
• Physically able to lift 50lbs throughout the day
• Ability to work long hours in all weather conditions
• Experience in all types of construction sign installation
• Mobile crane license is an asset, but we will train
• Steel experience preferred but not required
• Work well with others
• Self starter
• Min of ‘G’ license with a clean abstract
