  • Position: IT Help Desk Technician
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Location: Lloydminster - AB
  • This position is a full-time opportunity
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 5 PM.
  • Requirement: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • This is an onsite position.
  • Will be required to travel to Vegreville - AB or North Battleford- SK

About the role:
Reesink Canada is looking to add an IT Help Desk Technician
with a winning attitude, outstanding communication, and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for responding to incoming Help Desk request through phone, email or ticketing system with the ability of identifying the issue and resolve for the end user.

What will I do?
Responsibilities:
  • Respond to incoming helpdesk requests via phone, email, or ticketing system, and provide timely and friendly technical support to end-users.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network-related problems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware, operating systems, and software applications to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate complex issues and work together to resolve problems efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of helpdesk requests, resolutions, and follow-up actions using our ticketing system.
  • Assist in the management of IT assets, including inventory tracking, software licenses, and hardware maintenance.
  • Educate end-users on basic technical tasks, such as password resets and software usage, to enhance their computer literacy and self-sufficiency.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest IT trends and technologies to provide proactive support and offer suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Conduct periodic system checks and routine maintenance to prevent technical disruptions and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with IT vendors and service providers to facilitate hardware repairs, software updates, and other technical requirements.

What qualifications do I need?
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an IT Helpdesk Technician or in a similar technical support role.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows, macOS, or Linux), productivity software, and common business applications.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware, networking concepts, and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with end-users of varying technical expertise.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and respond to urgent requests promptly.
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional) will be considered a plus.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A customer-centric mindset and a commitment to providing exceptional IT support services.
  • Willingness to adapt to a dynamic work environment and learn new technologies as they emerge.
