Pathways Academy and Early Learning Centre is an educational facility offering a blend of traditional and Montessori teaching methods in a small classroom setting. We have been providing quality education and care in Niagara for over 20 years. Pathways is seeking energetic and enthusiastic Kitchen Staff & Lunch Time Duty Monitor to support our classrooms starting immediately.
**Great job oppurtunity for someone that needs for work around their children's school schedule . Shift is typically 4 -5 hours between 9:30 am - 2:30 pm.
To be considered for the position, the candidate must meet the following requirements:
- Experience working with young children (18 months - 12 years old)
- Able to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team environment
- A sense of humor, and a love of working with children.
- Professional, mature, warm, patient and nurturing
- Current First Aid and CPR C Certification
- Valid Criminal Records Check with Vulnerable sector screening
- Up to date Immunizations Records
- Safe Food Handler's Certificate
- A commitment to participate in school events, including family night a few times a school year
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal

Responsibilities & Hours of Work to consider:
- Organize catered food and preparing plates and utensils required for each class; as well as delivering items to each room as needed.
- Ability to read ingredients of products and ensure all children with allergies recieve a safe alternate from caterer.
- Maintain a neat, well organized, and attractive kitchen
- Ensure kitchen meets the requirements of the Public Health Department.
- Ensure health & safety and all standards are met according to Ministry of Education licensing requirements.
- Operate commerical dishwasher
- Record food temperature and keep records required
- Communicate with the office and caterer of items needed.
- Review menu for the week to ensure fridge is stocked with condiments, beverages and fruit needed for the week.
- Assist teaching staff with lunch coverage by supervisoring and serving food to a various age group.
- Participation in staff meeting and professional developments, as well as school events are mandatory
- Shift typically run between from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm (however hours may vary)
- Current postion holder retiring - able to work alongside for training for a few weeks.
