Following the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office, we are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual who will work with a dynamic team to perform the following duties:
· Manage the Lands and Resources department and ensure staff carry out the duties assigned to them.
· Perform duties that relate to the management, protection, or enhancement of the environment.
· Make assessments, determinations, declarations, and undertake remedial work for the protection of the environment under the Act.
· Ensure that historical and current land record information is gathered and maintained in various database systems.
· Organize and/or facilitate community consultation and workshops.
· Assess and complete final reports as required.
· Identify, arrange, or provide training for the staff.
· Supervise day-to-day activities and ensure staff adhere to HR policies and procedures.
· Support and encourage staff to move progressively towards departmental objectives.
· Maintain confidentiality and create a positive rapport between staff/clients and indigenous agencies.
· Research new funding opportunities as well as liaise with other First Nations, government agencies, funders, and any other external stakeholders.
· Adhere to reporting procedures outlined in funding agreements.
· Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientating, and training designated staff.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Degree or diploma in one or more of the following: Natural or Renewable Resource Management, Land Management, Environmental studies.
· Preferred 2-3 years of related work experience at a management level.
· Understanding of Native culture, traditions, teachings, and community dynamics.
· Knowledge of legislations governing First Nations.
Assets:
· Experience with Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS and other related office programs.
· Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Valid First Aid and CPR
