(Beaverhouse Band Members and Internal Candidates will be given priority)
Following the Mission Statement of the Beaverhouse First Nation Band Office, we are seeking a dedicated and energetic individual who will work with a dynamic team to perform the following duties:
· Provide input on best practices and new processes for the department to evolve in a positive direction.
· Establish, develop, and maintain the policies and procedures of Beaverhouse First Nation.
· Collaborate with department managers to submit proposals when relevant.
· Host meetings with Department Managers and Administrative Staff to provide updates on Finance and operations.
· Perform regular reviews of the programs with departmental managers to ensure funding agreements are adhered to.
· Review and verify that all transactions are executed within the designated budgets and accurately recorded in the respective ledgers.
· Identify, arrange, or provide training for the staff.
· Supervise day-to-day activities and ensure staff adhere to HR policies and procedures.
· Support and encourage staff to move progressively towards departmental objectives.
· Maintain confidentiality and create a positive rapport between staff/clients and indigenous agencies.
· Research new funding opportunities as well as liaise with other First Nations, government agencies, funders, and any other external stakeholders.
· Adhere to reporting procedures outlined in funding agreements.
· Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientating, and training designated staff.
· Provide monthly and quarterly reports to the Band Manager and attend Chief and Council meetings as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
· Degree in Business Administration or accounting/bookkeeping with emphasis on accounting and financial management.
· Preferred 2-3 years of related work experience at a management level.
· Understanding of Native culture, traditions, teachings, and community dynamics.
· Knowledge of legislations governing First Nations.
Assets:
· Experience with Microsoft Office suite, TEAMS and other related office programs.
· Valid Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle.
· Valid First Aid and CPR
