Reporting to the Senior Lead, Environment, the Lead, Environmental Performance (At Teck known as Lead, Environment) is responsible for driving regulatory compliance and improved environment performance at Greenhills Operations (GHO). This role will focus on the development and implementation of preventative programs supporting improved environment performance.
In this role, you will be integral to improving, expanding, and developing programs around a high functioning environmental management system with a focus on reducing risk. This role leads and supports GHO’s ISO 14001 registered environment management systems, facilitates incident investigation and corrective action planning, and assessing the effectiveness of controls related to environment compliance.

Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environment rules and procedures
- Collaborate closely with departments to develop or improve controls that address environment compliance obligations and risks
- Conduct effectiveness reviews, assurance checks and proactively identify areas needing improvement
- Facilitate multidisciplinary problem-solving sessions related to historic non-compliances and known risk sources to implement a variety of corrective and preventive action plans
- Maintain all management system elements such as the HSEC Obligations Register, Environment Risk Register, Controlled Document Libraries, etc
- Track and report on progress against performance metrics and various corrective action plans
- Support various auditing requirements such as ISO 14001, corporate compliance, HSEC audits
Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or Science; an environmental related field is preferred
- Hold a professional designation and meet the BC provincial requirements of a qualified professional for applicable programs is an asset
- Minimum five years experience providing technical direction on environmental risks and challenges associated with resource management
- Technical knowledge of federal and provincial compliance practices and regulations
- Excellent project management experience with a track record that includes management and technical direction of multiple projects and budgets
- Proficient in environmental data management, analysis, reporting, and environmental databases

Salary Range: $101,000 - $125,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
