About the Job

The Wiarton/Sauble Beach Home Service Areas currently have a casual vacancy available. Reporting to the Lead Branch Supervisor, the Library clerk provides information services and readers' advisory to patrons, carries out routine duties at the circulation desk to lend and receive library items, conducts other clerical or maintenance tasks, and assists with library programming.
The casual hours will vary; evenings and weekends required.

· Wage Rates: $17.50 - $20.56 per hour

Requirements

Qualifications:
· Must have completed grade 12 education, as a minimum
· Superior interpersonal, communication and organization skills
· Excellent computer skills and experience working in a computerized environment
· Strong ability to successfully multitask in a busy environment
· Experience planning, promoting, and running programs for all age groups and for large groups
· Ability to work independently while successfully promoting the mandate of the Library
· Strong customer service background
· Support the Canadian Federation of Library Association’s Statement on Intellectual Freedom and Libraries
· Ability to lift book bins, maneuver book carts and shelve books
· Experience with office equipment
Assets:
· Registration in the Ontario Library Service (OLS) EXCEL program
· Current First Aid/CPR certification
