OPL # 04-2024 Accounts Payable Clerk Part-time Permanent
Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk
Hourly Rate: $30.66 - $32.49
Reports to: Manager, Finance
Location: McLaughlin Branch. This position is on-site only
Hours: Up to 25 hours per week. Monday – Friday, hours may be flexible between 8:00 AM start and 5:00 PM finish
Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this position is responsible for processing all authorized invoices and requests for payment.
General Description of Duties:
1. Receives all invoices and cheque requisitions. Verify totals, documentation, and authorization. As required, allocates accounts for invoice payment as approved by Manager.
2. Processes electronic payments and cheques, produces reports as required.
3. Reconciles monthly vendor statements.
4. Maintains Accounts Payable invoice files.
5. Prepares bank deposits.
6. Performs accounting work as required.
7. Assists in the Purchasing function as required.
8. Answers internal staff and external vendor inquires.
9. Maintains confidential financial and personal information.
10. May track and records activities in the reserve and reserve funds held by the library.
11. This position is required to take every reasonable precaution in the circumstances for the protection of the health and safety of the worker.
12. Other Duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities required:
1. Ability to work independently.
2. Computer competency, and proficiency in office software currently in use in the work area.
3. Experience using QuickBooks in a work setting.
4. Strong communication skills.
5. Ability to operate all equipment used in work area.
6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and external contacts.
7. Ability to provide courteous, efficient and effective service.
8. Ability to work in confidence.
Physical skills and working conditions:
This position requires keyboarding, extensive attention to detail. Required to meet strict deadlines on an ongoing basis.
Required Qualifications & Education:
One (1) year of formal education in Accounting/Finance plus one (1) year work-related experience or equivalent. Must have a valid Ontario driver’s license. Must be bondable.
