Accounts Receivable/Payable Clerk

Job Responsibilities

This position supports both the accounts receivable and payable functions by completing the following

• Conduct AR collection efforts including phone calls and emails with customers to follow up on overdue accounts and arrange payment
• Answer questions or concerns relating to collection issues, account issues, discrepancies, payments, etc.
• Work with customers to investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Resolve issues with strong problem-solving methodology
• Accurately maintain accounts receivable records, apply customer payments, and update customer information
• Enter vendor invoices into the dealer business system
• Reconcile vendor statements and accurately maintain vendor records
• Organize, maintain, and co-ordinate office records and files
• Complete various reconciliations and analysis to support the finance function
• Assist accounting team with daily banking and cash management

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in an Accounting/Finance discipline preferred
• Strong people and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Self-starter with the ability to perform duties independently and able to work in a team environment
• Able to meet deadlines, work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task
• Strong understanding of financial systems and standard desktop applications including Microsoft Office
