Our Hantsport, Nova Scotia location is looking to hire a Maintenance Manager to provide support within our Hantsport Operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an amazing team where you will be an integral part of the operations team leading a group of Millwrights. Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:
- Manages, motivates, develops, and provides direct support and leadership to maintenance team including involvement in troubleshooting.
- Providing technical and administrative support to tradesmen, maintenance stores and other departments.
- Overseeing the operation and maintenance of the CKF Steam Plant.
- Oversee management of predictive/preventative maintenance programs.
- Engages contractors for repairs beyond capability of existing resources and oversees their work.
- Managing capital projects as assigned.
- Continuous Improvement - continuously looks for areas of improvement in all areas of the Company.
- Providing direct support to the Plant Engineer as required - act as Plant Engineer during their absence.
- Responsible for managing the maintenance budget with the Plant Engineer.
Qualifications:
- Red Seal Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) and/or Mechanical/Electrical degree (or equivalent combination of training and experience).
- 5-8 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- 5 years of experience leading a maintenance team.
- Familiarity of Provincial Occupational Health and Safety legislation and safety best practices.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional Time management with the ability to excel in a demanding, high-pace environment, highly detail-oriented and flexible to changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written), with special focus on client service and highest degree of professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong team player with a high level of personal integrity
- Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.
