What will I be doing?
As a Maintenance Person, you will be helping to ensure the hotel physical plant is in good working order and providing a friendly positive experience for all our guests. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you are responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Routine Maintenance:
- Perform cleaning activities such as dusting, mopping etc.
- Conduct maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.
- Install appliances and equipment.
- Stay updated on new maintenance techniques, technologies, and safety protocols.
Inspections and Preventative Maintenance:
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems (e.g. ventilation).
- Perform chemical tests for the swimming pool
- Check functionality of safety systems (e.g. fire alarm).
- Check control panels and electrical wiring to identify issues.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order·
Repairs
- Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, filling gaps on walls, etc.
- Paint touch-up work
- Minor repairs to tools and equipment
Landscape and Grounds Work:
- Help as needed with grounds upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
- Shovel Snow in Winter, chip ice, etc.
- Ensure outdoor spaces are clean, safe and visually appealing year round.
Interacting with Guests:
- Interact with guests in a courteous and professional manner while addressing maintenance requests in guest rooms or public areas.
- Maintain a guest-focused attitude and prioritize their comfort and satisfaction
Collaboration:
- Report to Maintenance Manager any issues that need
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all departments
- Collaborate with workers and other professionals during renovations.
- Share and live the company values at work
Documentation and Inventory Management
- Maintain records of tasks performed as requested by Manager or Health and Safety
- Keep track of inventory, reporting to Manager when supplies are getting low
Health and Safety:
Ensure that all Occupational Health & Safety policies are followed.
Ensure your required training is up to date.
What are the skills, abilities and attitudes we are looking for?
- Experience in light maintenance is an asset
- A valid Drivers License and a clean Driver’s Abstract is required. ·
- A friendly customer-focused attitude
- Strong verbal English communication skills with emphasis on problem-solving.
- Must be a team player and willing to learn new skills and procedures ·
- Attention to detail. ·
- Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision. ·
- A criminal record check may be required
- Willingness to learn
Working Conditions
- Indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to lift 23kg (50 lb)
- Must be able to be on your feet 6 - 8 hours /day
- Bending, kneeling, walking, lifting
- May include shift work, evenings and weekends

BWV
