Reporting to the Supervisor, Maintenance Planning, the Maintenance Planner, Electrical (known at Teck as Planner, Maintenance) is responsible for providing comprehensive maintenance job plans and maintenance strategies that improve the efficiency and performance of the Maintenance Department and assist in meeting the requirements of Process Operations.

They will possess excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Handle work order backlogs for accuracy and details required to accurately advance the work through the planning process
  • Handle maintenance activities including Request for Proposals, contractor and vendor quotes, and Purchase Order Requests
  • Scope all aspects of pre-job requirements, including parts, labour resources, Environment Health Safety and Community (EHSC) work plans, permits, drawings, facilities, support equipment, special equipment and tooling, and instructions
  • Assist with equipment inspections and preventative maintenance checks as required, and assist with troubleshooting
  • Maintain an accurate forecast that adheres to established maintenance strategies, while supporting premier asset management strategies
  • Commission and decommission equipment and their maintenance programs
  • Assist with cost forecasting and budgeting for the electrical area.
  • Work regularly with maintainers to build or improve detailed work packages
  • Track and report Key Performance Indicators, bringing forward continuous improvement opportunities
  • Incorporate site annual and five-year plans when setting planning priorities

 

Qualifications:

  • Electrical or Instrumentation Journeyperson or Technician, or Degree or Diploma in a related subject area, or a combination of relevant education and experience
  • Previous supervisory, maintenance, planning, or scheduling experience
  • Electrical and instrumentation commissioning
  • Digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with maintenance processes and software would be an asset

Salary Range: $114,000 - $141,000

 

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.

 

Successful candidates must be willing to satisfy the pre-employment requirements of a pre-employment drug screen and three professional references.
