Position Overview
The Maintenance Technician - Mechanical is accountable for contributing to the equipment availability of various types of rotating and stationary equipment used in the manufacturing processes at the Edmonton, AB production facility in safe, professional, and cost-effective manner.
Job Responsibilities
-Execute and document routine, preventive/predictive and reactive maintenance activities on a variety of rotating and stationary equipment in accordance with company standards and manufacturer recommendations.
-Participate in the development and execution of preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
-Assist in obtaining and evaluating quotations for parts and service.
-Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of equipment enhancements to improve equipment reliability.
-Actively participates in regular housekeeping audits and daily tours of production areas to support the 5S lean philosophy.
-Participates in quality and customer incident investigations and assists with identifying and implementing recommendations to prevent recurrence.
-Participates in equipment root cause failure analysis investigations and process safety management programs.
-Adhere to all safety standards, policies and relevant reference materials.
Minimum Qualifications
-Possess an interprovincial millwright trade certificate with 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
-Knowledge of maintaining a variety of pumping systems, gearbox assemblies, rotatory valves, blowers, hydraulic systems, alignment methodologies, and compressors.
-Knowledge of piping and equipment standard specifications.
-Role requires the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
-Computer literacy in MS Office and computerized process systems are necessary.
-Proficient use of computerized maintenance management systems (SAP preferred).
-Possess excellent organizational skills.
-Available for periodic on-call and afterhours call outs
-Previous experience operating mobile equipment safely in an industrial facility.
-Ability to work in a self-motivated team environment with strong work ethic, positive attitude, and proven attendance record.
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.
