Reporting to the Director, Advancement, the Manager, Business Development will be responsible for identifying, implementing and evaluating sponsorships, corporate and foundation donations and grants, annual giving, partnerships and revenue generation projects – all with a primary focus on building incremental revenue for the Surrey School District. The incumbent will set and achieve annual goals, adhere to annual budgets, present to donors, internal stakeholders and the Board as required. The Manager, Business Development leads a staff of 2, to build, nurture and maintain donor relationships across the district, and works closely with the Manager, Endowments & Major Gifts.
The ability to meet multi-million dollar donor/revenue targets and bring multiple projects to fruition on time and on budget are a part of the role description. An excellent record of achievement as a strong, innovative leader/manager in a similar role is required. Outstanding interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, and approximately 10 years’ relevant experience will be necessary to enable the individual to fulfill this role.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Communications, English, Marketing or Business/Finance coupled with a minimum of 5 years of fundraising experience; or an equivalent combination of post-secondary training and experience. Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) certification would be an asset. The ideal candidate will be energetic, self-directed, and able to work confidently and successfully in a fast-paced advancement environment. Knowledge of district fundraising and K-12 structure is preferred. A valid driver’s license is required.
The salary range for this position is: $ $98,142 - $122,677 per year with comprehensive benefits package and Municipal Pension. This is a one year Maternity Leave coverage position. The start date will be in April 2024 with the exact start date to be confirmed. Applicants will be available full time from April to August 31, 2025.
Placement in the salary range is determined by an assessment of qualifications and ability to meet the key requirements of the job, and consideration of internal equity comparisons.
