As the Manager of Financial Operations, you will be responsible for providing management and leadership to large, multi-disciplinary team that plays a key role in managing financial, operational and reputational risk on behalf of the City. This is accomplished through provision of quality services. Primary duties include:
  • Facilitate payment of The City's supplier obligations. 
  • Assist with billing of The City's centralized revenue stream and management of associated receivables. 
  • Support the collection of The City's corporate, property and business improvement area tax receivables. 
  • Provide consultation and transactional support for The City's excise and income obligations. 
 
Qualifications 
  • A related degree supplemented by a Professional Designation such as Certified Credit Professional, Certified Accounts Payable Practitioner, Verified Treasury Professional, Charted Professional Accountant or a related designation with at least 10 years of related experience in a high-volume environment with at least 5 years of experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered. 
  • Knowledge of The City's administrative and operational procedures as well as the appropriate legislations (e.g., Municipal Government Act, City Bylaws, Administration Policies, etc.) relating to tax, billing, collection and payment.
  • Knowledge of information systems and technology to leverage financial reporting and decision making and control needs is an asset.
  • The successful candidate will have strong strategic leadership and management capability to achieve results that are aligned with the organizational goals, and the ability to achieve results in a highly political and public environment.
  • Analytical thinking, independent decision-making and superior leadership skills.

Compensation: Level H $118,309 - 188,600 per annum (2024 Rates)
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
