What is the opportunity?
You will be responsible for the daily margining activities in support of RBCs requirements at their Centrally Cleared Counterparties (CCPs).
Supporting the processing of both the Initial and variation margin obligations at the various clearing houses.
This function sits within the wider collateral management team within the Business & Client Services (BCS) team at RBC.
What will you do?
Facilitating and processing of daily margin calls across all CCPs that RBC have direct relationships with.
Ensure all relevant daily tasks are appropriately completed in accordance with daily task lists and adhering to RBCs processes and procedures.
Owning all CCP technology requests (tactical and strategic), liaising with solutions, change, and collaborate with technology teams as required.
To act as a central point of contact for all BCS departments that have requirements to help facilitate margin to the clearing houses that RBC have memberships for.
To navigate RBC’s structure quickly and efficiently expedite any queries/asks through to resolution.
Keep up-to date with both internal and external initiatives that have a direct impact on the CCP margin.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
A very strong understanding of the daily margin lifecycle and requirements of the clearing houses. Covering both the Initial margin and Variation margin obligations.
A good working knowledge of vendor systems/solutions such as Tri Optima, Acadia, LCH Portal.
An in-depth knowledge of the main CCPs (i.e. LCH, Eurex, CME, ICE Clear) and FMI systems.
In-depth knowledge of one or more regulatory regimes, including CASS, Transaction Reporting, MiFID II, EMIR.
Advanced Macro VBA skills.
Nice-to-have
Have good awareness of the impact that the cleared margin activity has on other areas of capital markets business.
Recognised industry qualifications: CISI, Eurex Clearing Qualified Clearing Staff (QBO)
Proficient in APEX, GLOSS, Colline and Acadia Margin Manager.
