Marketing Specialist

ABOUT THE ROLE

This summer job opportunity is part of the Canada Summer Jobs initiative. We are looking for a talented marketing/communications individual to join our small team for a period of 12 weeks for 35hrs per week, from May 1, 2024, to July 31, 2024.

This is great opportunity for a person who has an interest in agriculture and looking for exciting opportunity to apply their skills in creative development across a range of mediums and channels.

SCOPE OF ACTIVITES

Support the Business Manager with the day-to-day marketing and communication activities of the Commission including research, planning, development, and execution of social media campaigns; development of creative assets for both print and digital, support with website content management system and website updates, collaborate and support on campaign initiatives, content development, and support in the research, planning and execution of industry events.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Graphic design experience including Canva or Photoshop
• Excellent copywriting skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and change priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to problem-solve and work creatively with technology to improve processes
• Knowledge/experience with WordPress CMS
• Knowledge/experience of Facebook, Instagram, and Mailchimp
• Two years of related social media experience
• Experience in event planning an asset
• Working towards a post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field

REQUIREMENTS

• This role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• This is a hybrid working position, from the Edmonton area.
• Term of the contract is for 12 weeks (TBC).
• $19 per hour.
