Medical Assistant: A busy medical office is looking to fill a part-time position with a positive, energetic, reliable professional. Approximately 25-35 hours per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcoming patients
- Ensure all patients arrive on time for their scheduled appointments
- Opening the clinic with every system ready for providers to see their scheduled patients on time.
- Manage patient schedules, check-ins and checkouts
- Handle patient forms, distribution, scanning and uploading
- Prepare invoices, schedule follow-up appointments and handle payments accurately
- Manage walk-in patients' scheduling needs
- Reschedule No Show appointments promptly
- Handling incoming parcels
- Stay informed about clinical procedures and follow office policies & procedures
- Electronically scheduling and confirming appointments
- Updating patient information
- Stocking and set up of exam rooms
- Maintenance of general office appearance
- Maintain a clean and positive environment for patient comfort
- Instrument Sterilization, maintenance of logs and other duties as assigned
- Assist Specialist with Patient Care
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience as a medical receptionist/assistant or in a similar customer service role
- Knowledge of medical terminology is an asset
- Familiarity with a private practice medical office and experience in a healthcare setting is advantageous
- Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of electronic medical records an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and task completion abilities, with exceptional attention to detail
- Out going and loves helping people
- Ability to work as a team and independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a pleasant, positive and professional demeanor.
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and patient focused approach
- Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and handle challenging interactions with empathy and composure
- Demonstrates flexibility to accept changes to areas of responsibility as required
- Knowledge of Tracker an asset
- Ability to handle and maintain highly confidential information
