Medical Office Receptionist Job Responsibilities and Duties
1. Creates a welcoming atmosphere by greeting visitors and patients to the clinic
2. Checks in and checks out patients in a timely, friendly manner
3. Outstanding professional phone management skills: manages a multiline telephone system efficiently and politely, minimizing hold time
4. Comforts patients by answering any questions they may have
5. Schedules testing and procedures for patients as necessary
6. Able to book and schedule appointment, give confirmation calls prior to appointment.
7. Able to work on electronic faxes.

10. Comforts patients by answering any questions they may have
11. Obtains patient identification (health card) and insurance information (E-health or private insurance in case if no health card)
12. Maintains patient accounts by verifying insurance information and coordinating with relevant organizations for payment and referral requirements
13. Helps maintain office inventory; may place orders for office supplies and schedule service for office equipment repairs
14. Protects patients right of confidentiality; mandatory familiarity with HIPAA
