Description
The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for a Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) Wellness Promotor. The Wellness Promoter reports to the MHCB School Coordinator and is accountable to a school division-level representative as appointed by the Director of Education. The Wellness Promoter works as part of a team to meet objectives of the Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) initiative. These objectives are met by developing and delivering developmentally appropriate, evidence based programming to children, youth and families. The Wellness Promoter is expected to spend 80% of work time in direct contact with children, youth, school staff or parents.
Position and Assignment Details:
The Wellness Promotor shall receive a three (3) year term contract commencing April 10, 2024. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 12-month position with an average of 7.5 hours/day. Flexible hours are available.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Training, Development and Program Delivery
Develop, plan, promote and deliver universally accessible mental wellness programming for large and small groups in schools and community settings;
Focus programming and training on increasing knowledge, building skills and fostering abilities that enable others to improve their own Mental Health and wellness;
Work with students, school staff, parents/guardians and community members (who work closely with children and youth) to increase their knowledge, skills, competence, and confidence related to Mental Health and illness issues;
Salary and Benefits:
The School Division offers a competitive compensation package. The Wellness Promotor shall receive an annual salary between $50,000 to $80,000 depending on qualifications, education, and experience.
