Job description:
The Beach Patrol will conduct foot patrols of assigned areas ensuring compliance with beach rules and parking by-laws.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct patrols throughout the beach
- Engage in awareness and education discussions with the public to achieve compliance with beach regulations and deter parking infractions
- Assist By-Law Enforcement Officers with investigations and gathering evidence
This position would be great for those currently in, or just graduated from Community Justice or Police Foundations programs, giving you experience in building community connections, de-escalation tactics and learning to collaborate with community members and Law Enforcement agencies.
Education and Experience
- Diploma in Police Foundations or related discipline is an asset
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient in English communication
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age
- Clean criminal background check
- Must be legal to work in Canada
- Own or have access to vehicle
- Ability to work in all weather conditions (rain, sun, etc...)
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 3-4 months
Salary: $17.00-$21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
