Responsibilities:
As a Parking Enforcement Officer for Brantford, you'll:
- Enforce parking restrictions on public and private properties in the city, ensuring compliance with municipal parking by-laws.
- Conduct patrols in assigned areas, issuing infraction notices when necessary.
- Record and report defective traffic control devices, missing, and damaged signage.
- Attend court to present evidence as required, upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
- Respond promptly to complaints and calls for service, demonstrating exceptional customer service skills.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Parking Enforcement supervisor, contributing to the overall safety and orderliness of the city.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- An Ontario secondary school diploma, demonstrating your educational foundation.
- Ideally, 2 years of community college education in Law and Security or a related field, showcasing your commitment to excellence.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in parking and/or enforcement, highlighting your expertise in the field.
- A valid Class G Driver's License with a clean driver's abstract, ensuring you can fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Knowledge of municipal parking by-laws, demonstrating your understanding of local regulations.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact tactfully and helpfully with the public.
- Strong customer service and decision-making abilities, enabling you to handle various situations with professionalism.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and be on-call when needed.
- A police clearance, underscoring your integrity and suitability for the position.
